Hydraulic Fluids
Hydraulic oils live or die on filterability and hydrolytic stability. Water gets in; the question is whether your antiwear additive survives it. Primary C8 ZDDP is specified precisely because it hydrolyses more slowly than the short-chain grades, and the ashless dithiocarbamate route exists for the zinc-free specifications.
