C9 thiadiazole derivative (DMTD)
Highest sulphur and nitrogen of the three DMTD grades. C9 sits between the C8 and C12 on solubility while carrying the most active element — the best value per kilogram of the range.

Yellow Metal Deactivators
Copper passivation and catalytic-oxidation suppression
Triazoles and thiadiazoles chelate onto copper and its alloys. Two jobs at once: they stop the metal from being attacked, and they stop dissolved copper ions from catalysing oxidation of the base oil. In a turbine or gear oil, omitting these is how you get a fluid that fails oxidation testing for reasons nobody can explain.
