These fluids are expected to run for tens of thousands of hours without being changed. Nothing else in lubrication is asked for that. The formulation is deliberately sparse — a paired antioxidant system, a metal deactivator and a rust inhibitor — which means every component has to be right, because there is nothing else in the drum to compensate.
