AM-140

Butylated octylated diphenylamine

The workhorse liquid aminic. Mixed butyl/octyl substitution buys solubility in mineral and PAO stocks that a single-substituent DPA cannot match, and it pours at ambient — no melt-out step in the blend house.

Grades a formulator would benchmark AM-140 against. Naming them is not a claim of equivalence — it is where to start the comparison.

Aminic Antioxidants

High-temperature radical scavenger

Typical treat rate0.3 – 2.0 %

Alkylated diphenylamines and naphthylamines. They terminate the peroxy radical chain at temperatures where hindered phenols have already been consumed, which makes them the backbone of any oil expected to survive above roughly 120 °C. Aminic and phenolic antioxidants are near-always used together — the pair is synergistic, not redundant.

Documentation

A full technical data sheet, safety data sheet in the language of the receiving country, REACH status statement and SVHC declaration are issued with every enquiry for AM-140. Certificates of analysis accompany each consignment and retained samples are held for the full shelf life.
