CI-300
Sodium alkylbenzene sulfonate (neutral)
Water-tolerant rust inhibitor. The sodium salt is the one that stays functional in emulsions and semi-synthetic metalworking fluids where calcium would drop out.
- Type
- Neutral sodium sulfonate
Typical values, not a specification. The binding specification is the one on the certificate of analysis issued against each batch.
- CAS number
- 68411-30-3
Grades a formulator would benchmark CI-300 against. Naming them is not a claim of equivalence — it is where to start the comparison.
Corrosion & Rust Inhibitors
Ferrous surface passivation and water displacement
Neutral alkylbenzene sulfonates adsorb onto steel and physically exclude water from the surface. Neutral — as opposed to overbased — means they contribute rust protection without the acid-neutralising reserve, so they are used where TBN is not wanted.
Hydraulic Fluids
Anti-wear hydraulic oils, including zinc-free and fire-resistant fluids.
Metalworking Fluids
Neat cutting oils, soluble oils, semi-synthetics and forming lubricants.
Turbine & Compressor Oils
Steam, gas and hydro turbine oils, rotary and reciprocating compressor fluids.
Rust Preventives & Quenching
Slushing oils, export packaging fluids, quench oils and heat-treatment fluids.
A full technical data sheet, safety data sheet in the language of the receiving country, REACH status statement and SVHC declaration are issued with every enquiry for CI-300. Certificates of analysis accompany each consignment and retained samples are held for the full shelf life.
