MD-110
C12 thiadiazole derivative (DMTD)
The C12 chain gives the best oil solubility of the DMTD range. This is the grade for fully formulated synthetic fluids where the shorter-chain versions will haze or drop out over shelf life.
- Nitrogen
- 5.0 – 6.0%
- Sulphur
- 28 – 32%
Typical values, not a specification. The binding specification is the one on the certificate of analysis issued against each batch.
- CAS number
- 13539-12-3
Grades a formulator would benchmark MD-110 against. Naming them is not a claim of equivalence — it is where to start the comparison.
Yellow Metal Deactivators
Copper passivation and catalytic-oxidation suppression
Triazoles and thiadiazoles chelate onto copper and its alloys. Two jobs at once: they stop the metal from being attacked, and they stop dissolved copper ions from catalysing oxidation of the base oil. In a turbine or gear oil, omitting these is how you get a fluid that fails oxidation testing for reasons nobody can explain.
Industrial Gear Oils
Enclosed gear drives, wind turbine gearboxes and heavy industrial reducers.
Hydraulic Fluids
Anti-wear hydraulic oils, including zinc-free and fire-resistant fluids.
Greases
Lithium, lithium-complex, calcium sulfonate and polyurea thickened greases.
Metalworking Fluids
Neat cutting oils, soluble oils, semi-synthetics and forming lubricants.
Turbine & Compressor Oils
Steam, gas and hydro turbine oils, rotary and reciprocating compressor fluids.
Driveline & Transmission
Automatic and manual transmission fluids, axle oils, EV reduction-gear fluids.
A full technical data sheet, safety data sheet in the language of the receiving country, REACH status statement and SVHC declaration are issued with every enquiry for MD-110. Certificates of analysis accompany each consignment and retained samples are held for the full shelf life.
