ZP-202

Zinc dialkyldithiophosphate — secondary C3/C6

Mixed secondary C3/C6 — the classic passenger-car engine oil ZDDP. Fast film formation with better thermal behaviour than a pure short-chain secondary.

Grades a formulator would benchmark ZP-202 against. Naming them is not a claim of equivalence — it is where to start the comparison.

The chemistry

Zinc Dialkyldithiophosphates

Antiwear, antioxidant and corrosion inhibitor in one molecule

Typical treat rate0.5 – 1.5 %

Still the most cost-effective antiwear chemistry ever commercialised. Primary alkyl ZDDPs are thermally more stable and preferred in industrial and heavy-duty applications; secondary alkyls decompose at lower temperature and film faster, which is why they dominate passenger-car engine oils. Alcohol chain length sets both the thermal stability and the hydrolytic stability.

Documentation

A full technical data sheet, safety data sheet in the language of the receiving country, REACH status statement and SVHC declaration are issued with every enquiry for ZP-202. Certificates of analysis accompany each consignment and retained samples are held for the full shelf life.
