DS-1301

Polyisobutenyl succinimide (PIB 1300)

The heavier 1300 MW backbone gives a longer oil-soluble tail and better high-temperature dispersancy — the choice for long-drain and severe-duty formulations.

Grades a formulator would benchmark DS-1301 against. Naming them is not a claim of equivalence — it is where to start the comparison.

Polyisobutenyl succinimides — a polar head that binds contaminant, an oil-soluble PIB tail that keeps it suspended. This is the largest additive class by volume in any crankcase formulation. Borated grades add antiwear and improve seal and thermal performance; higher-TBN grades carry more acid-neutralising reserve.
